A typical Russian man, Grigory, who was randomly selected to take part in a joint Russian-Canadian medical experiment; he becomes a “tough” patient in a Canadian clinic to be cured of his biggest problem—alcoholism. During his stay in the treatment center, Grigory falls in love with a music teacher, Abby, makes friends with her handicapped foster son and many people. The new life has awakened his charm, appeal and talents. But he still misses his daughter, Lisa, left in Russia and suddenly he discovers himself missing his own homeland.
